Bread Upma by Adyasha Padhi
Preparation Time:

- Makes 4 servings
- 10 bread slices
- 2 finely chopped onions 1 finely chopped tomato
- 2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson) 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- 3 to 4 finely chopped green chillies 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi) few curry leaves (kadi patta)
- 2 tsp chopped garlic (lehsun)
- 2 tbsp peanuts
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 4 tsp oil salt to taste
For Granish
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
- 2 tsp Lemon juice
Method
- Remove the sides of the bread slices and cut them into small pieces and keep aside.
- Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the curry leaves, mustard seeds, green chillies and garlic and saute till the seeds crackle.
- Add the onions and saute till they turn translucent.
- Add the turmeric powder and saute for 30 seconds.
- Add the tomatoes, mix well and cook till the tomatoes turn soft. Add the garam masala and cook for 2 mins.
- Add the bread cubes, mix well and cook taking care the bread pieces does not breaks.
- Cover and cook for 2 minutes. Serve hot garnished it with coriander and lemon juice.
