Dual Delight for ACE Tech -School NIT Rourkela , Professor Sunil Kumar Sarangi

Reported by Abhijeet Acharya :- Happy tidings truly betide ace tech-school NIT (National Institute Of Techlonogy)-Rourkela as the Director of NIT-R , Professor Sunil Kumar Sarangi has been conferred with NATIONAL EDUCATION LEADERSHIP AWARD and the institution per se has received the “OUTSTANDING ENGINEERING INSTITUTE(east) AWARD”. The aforementioned awards have been sponsored by “WORD EDUCATION CONGRESS AND B-SCHOOL AFFAIRS” & “ET NOW”.

These awards are given annually to those who make extraordinary contribution in the educational arena.NIT-R’s PR officer, Mr. R.K Sinha has received these awards in a ceremony in Mumbai on 16^th February.s

More about Prof :-

Prof Sunil Kumar Sarangi is the first director of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, the erstwhile Regional Engineering College (REC). Prof Sarangi was educated at Ravenshaw College. After studying mechanical engineering at IIT, Kharagpur, he joined the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1970 and was awarded PhD in Radiative Heat Transfer. Later in 1977, he joined Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad and then went on to join IIT, Kharagpur as a faculty. His areas of interests are cryogenic Processes and Equipment, Heat Exchanger, Compression and Expansion Machines. He was a professor and head of the Cryogenic Department for a long time before joining as the NIT director. Prof. Sarangi is well known for his scholarly contributions and able administration.
