Three-Star Hotel At #Bhubaneswar #Airport by 2019 June & five star Hotel will be opening soon #Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Coming 2019, you will be welcomed to a sprawling three-star hotel at the Bhubaneswar Airport here. A proposal has been floated for setting up of a 100-room hotel at the airport to facilitate visitors.
Airport Director Suresh Chandra Hota informed that the proposal to set up hotels has come up for three airports that include Kolkata, Amritsar and Bhubaneswar.
“Availability of a hotel in the Airport area will help the crew and transit passengers as well as to host conferences. It will also add to tourism infrastructure,” said Hota.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has already invited Request for Proposal (RFP) for construction of the hotel, to be constructed under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. AAI will provide land for the project, which is likely to be completed by 2019. It will have a conference hall with a capacity of 250.
The hotel will come up under city side development near the car parking at estimated cost of Rs 35 crores. A budget hotel as well as a five-star are also in the offing but will come up in different stages, Hota said.
“We have adhered to NOC, local body restrictions and compliance to safety and security rules,” said the airport director adding that initially the land will be given on lease for 30 years and the lease period might be extended for next 30 years.
Though the RFP has been floated today, the bidding will begin on September 5. A new technical tower for Air Traffic Control with state-of-the-art facilities and increased capacity is also on the cards. Besides, the Jharsuguda and Rourkela airports will be operational from September this year.
“90 percent work is over for the regional airports which will be operational from September under Udaan Scheme,” said Hota. src OTV
