In a very young age of 25, Odia Designer Sujit Meher became a creator of new era in fashion Industry with his unique style and designs to popularize odisha hand-loom globally, Who won Designer-cum-Entrepreneur 2014 award recently. After a great success of his last collection on Sambalpuri handloom with the theme of “Folk Fashion” in bangalore show by Juhar Parivaar, a Socio-cultural organization from western odisha based in Bangalore.
Sujit Meher Comes up with my another collection with Sambalpuri handloom to promote odisha Hand-loom globally with new fashion and trend. As Sujit Says “From last couple of months people were keep saying me and requesting me to create something for men’s wear also and they were so enthusiast about it. So unlike other designers i feel that i should create and launch designs on common people’s demand not as per celebrity’s demand. Because i feel common people are my celebrities. And i want to make them more beautiful.”
So this year he presented both women’s wear and men’s wear as well. Designs he has created on behemian style. This year his designs speak about style and accessorize in a better way with our odisha handloom. He says ” I am sure, my new designs will change the thinking and attitude of youngsters towards Indian handloom and i hope they would really like it.” For women he has presented a rang of tops, palazzos, jacket and Shrugs. And for man a rang of Jackets.
Sujit Meher created this range of designs for all ages group, because there is no limit to be in style and this time his designs talk about handloom in style he added.
This collection has been launched during “Nuakhai Bhet 2014“, because Sujit Meher feels that there cant be a better occasion than this festival, which is one of the key festival of odisha for promoting sambalpuri handlooms.
This collection tells the richness of odisha’s tradition, culture and off-course the beauty of sambalpuri fabric. He tried to blend sambalpuri fabric with some different kind of rich cotton and silk to give a new trendy look. These are the fusion with some other fabric.
This year there was a huge crowd of 1500+ odia and non odia to see the event. It was really a great response from people. They were so enthusiast about the collections and waiting for market availability.
