An noble work by NMIET students at Sai Old Age Home #Bhubaneswar #Odisha
“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
― Barack Obama
With respect to the above quote, the 1st year students of NMIET B School, decided to visit Sai Old Age Home, Bhubaneswar inspired by our mentor sir Mr. Santosh Kumar Dash. So we collected some fund from our pocket money and purchase some basic need goods for them.
Finally the day come on 09.02.2017, we all reached the organization by 3.30pm with our teachers Mr. Arjun Singh and Mrs. Supriya Jena. Received a warm welcome from Miss .Rivika Naiak care taker of Sai Old age Home. She made us feel comfortable .Latter we took a tour of the Ashram and met each person staying there. As we started interacting to them the initial enthusiasm turned into totally different feeling. One of them was physically grown up but mentally behaves as a 5years old baby. We came across another grand maa. She is near about 80 years old was physically good but mentally weak tortured by their family members. Although it was very hard to believe that the people you love care for could abandon you one day. We met another person who was bed ridden due to Hernia and he was also suffered from paralysis. He was highly qualified and was a faculty of a college and lover of mother tongue. He has knowledge in different fields and after meeting with him it gave us a different prospective of life-Life is Unpredictable- so live in the present moment.
And last not the least the care taker Miss Rivika mam, she is a great personality. She takes care of those people who are not related to her without any expectation of return from them. She spread her love and affection to these people who are helpless .It shows that Education and Love both are the property, if we distribute it with other s will increase day by day and will never end. At last we distribute the things we were purchase for them.
Over all we had a great memorable experience at Sai Old age Home. Sometimes action and emotion speak loudly than words. The tour surely was an eye opener in many ways. We could educate people on some important values of life skills regarding taking care, respecting and valuing elders and other human beings.
Thank you “Sai Old age Home” for giving us this opportunity to help humanity and to get a good nap on night.
