What is masoor dal?
-Masoor dal is a very quick and easy to cook recipe.Filled with high protein and it’s also known as Red lentils.Best substitute to nonveg or meat.
-Whole masoor dal aslo know as sabut masoor dal.This have higher fiber, better we soak them in enough water for few hours to avoid stomach problems.
-Its very easy to grow, grown in both small and commercial scale.
So that in western Odisha with others types of dal,the masoor daal is very economically favoured iteam.

How to make masoor daal in western Odisha style.
1-Masoor daal 100gm.
2-Refined oil two tablespoons
3-Turmeric powder 1/2teaspoon
4-Brinjal(Eggplant)one small(cut them into pieces.
5-Garlic cloves (4-5) sliced them horizontally
6-Dry red chilies 2
7-One big Tomato (cut them)
8-Salt as per taste
Procedure for Gota Masoor Dal-
-Take a pressure cooker,add the soak daal in 200ml water,add turmeric powder,salt,brinjal…. pressure cook it till two whistle.
-Take a kadhai /cooking container
-Add two tablespoons of oil (let it heat)
-Add the mustard seeds and zeera…. when it’s pop up
-Add the garlic cloves,dry red chilies
-Add the tomatoes and add little Salt just to cook the tomatoes properly
– Then add the boiled items (daal)and give it a good mix and cook it for few minutes ….then turn the flame off and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves….and it’s all ready to have Serve it with rice.
