Bhubaneswar: Rudra Madhab Ray, former MP from Kandhamal LS seat, on Sunday formally joined BJP at the party’s state office here.
In a press conference, the party’s state unit chief KV Singhdeo announced about the joining of the ex-MP in BJP.
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, party in-charge for Odisha Arun Singh, senior leaders Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Ashok Sahu and other activists were present during the announcement.
Notably, Ray was suspended from BJD by the regional party’s chief Naveen Pattnaik in April this year for his alleged role in anti-party activities.
Meanwhile, Bijay Mohapatra was appointed the chairman of the party’s campaign committee for the Kandhamal by-polls in its executive meeting today.
