“When Covid situation has improved in the State and the government has allowed the opening of all religious institutions and opening of markets up to 10.00 PM we fail to understand why it has imposed restrictions on the observance of festivals especially Durga Puja,” said senior BJP leader and former Minister Sameer Dey .
Bandha on Septmber 13 will happen if Govt will not remove the restrictions on the celebration of Durga Puja in the Cuttack city the senior BJP leader said,
Durga Puja is a glittering celebration of artistry and opulence. Historians say Durga Puja in this ancient city was started by Saint Chaitanya Mahaprabhu when he came down to Cuttack from West Bengal between 1512 and 1517 AD.
Durga Puja celebrations are a special tradition of Cuttack city and the people should be allowed to celebrate it when the Covid situation has eased.
