Covid19 : Lock-down Helps Bhagyasri to retrieve back to her Painting passion
Sometimes surrounding helps us to retrieve back to our passion and that happened with me.
Bhagyasri Sahoo from steel city Rourkela. Currently pursuing my Master’s from IGIT,sarang Dhenkanal. so you can call her an engineer by profession but an artist by heart.
Painting is her passion since my childhood and always had a soft corner toward this.
Though for a long period of time she got engaged in her studies and her passion got varnished. But thankfully it rediscovered her passion during these master’s days because the place where she was studying (dhenkanal) is full of beautiful stones.so she decided to get back to her passion for painting with a concept of painting on stones. Then started her journey of painting from here.
But due to luckdown she wasn’t able to continue her stone painting in her home.so she started painting on different mediums like bottles, glass, tin case, plywood etc..Whatever available at home.
As we know its impossible to imagine Odisha without Lord Jagannath . So belonging from a odia family she always had affection toward Odia culture, tradition and its art forms. since her childhood she loves painting of Lord jagannath and patachitra and this luckdown helped her to fall in love with this art form more and more and she has started painting Patachitra. This form of painting requires a lot patience and time because of its intricate designs with vibrant colors. But she never feel tired of it.
