A four-day 21st Golden Beach Festival at Chandipur-on-sea, started on Thursday evening on a high note.
Inaugurating the function, Higher Education and Industries Minister Ananta Das said the Chandipur beach has a special place in the world tourism map and efforts are on by the State Government to develop the beach to attract more and more tourists.
The district while has a 480 km coastline, initiative has been taken to build a coastal highway. Attending the function as guests, district Collector Ramesh Chandra Rout, former PRO, ECoR, Rabinarayan Mohaptra, Nesco utility head Bijay Sahu, District Tourist Officer Sasanka Sekhar Rath, DIPRO Subash Nihal along with others highlighted the unique features of the beach.
Sadar MLA JP Dash and general secretary of the festival committee Harekrushna Dash among others coordinated the event. Colourful cultural programmes were held in the evening.
