News Update:BJP suspends Odisha unit vice-president Ashok Sahu for social media comments #Odisha #News
The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has suspended senior party leader Ashok Sahu from the party and issued a show cause notice to him for allegedly breaking party discipline, said BJP spokesperson Sameer Mohanty on Thursday.
Sahu has broken the party’s discipline by giving remarks in media and Twitter, Mohanty added.
The party has also asked Sahu to reply within seven days why he should not be expelled from the BJP, said Mohanty.
For the past few days, Sahu has been giving statements in media against the party’s state leadership.
Particularly, after the announcement of results of Kandhamal by-poll, Sahu said on his Twitter page the party should learn lessons from the by-election.
When the Modi magic is working in others states of the country, why it has failed in Odisha? The party should introspect about that, Sahu has written on the social media website’s page.
Meanwhile, Sahu said he has not broken the party’s discipline and would talk to the party’s Central leaders about the decision.
Notably, Sahu had shown interest to be the party’s candidate from Kandhamal LS seat prior to the by-election. Even he had sent a Twitter message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding this.
Sahu was defeated during the 2009 general election when he was the party’s candidate from the LS seat.
