Bhubaneswar, 16th Sept 20: “galerie d’art residentielle” maiden art gallery of “Bhubaneswar Art Council” a not for profit organization at Bhubaneswar was inaugurated jointly by Dr. S.S Ray, Director of KIIT School of Architecture and founder of Vastukar, Dr. Ghanshyam Biswas, Executive Director of Sparsh Hospital, Dr. Pradip Kumar Sahoo, Charted Accountant, and Raghunath Sahoo, famous painter.
Bhubaneswar Art Council took cognizance of the social life during the pandemic that is fear of infections and attendant threat to life and depression due to sparse opportunity for social contacts. In response to that Bhubaneswar Art Council has developed a new concept of Residential Art Gallery that people from the neighborhood could stroll in any attire and at their own spare time to have a look at the diverse genres of creative works of artist, photographers and sculptures in a home like setting reflecting the environment of own space and time to derive visual pleasure and that would lead to psychological satisfaction or alteration in the pattern of thoughts after an experience of art therapy which should make ordinary people joyful, enthusiastic and much happier.
Dr. S.S Ray endorsed the idea of residential art gallery; however, he suggested making contemporary Art “Utilitarian” to make it popular. Dr, Ghanshyam Biswas also liked the idea of spending time with art after backbreaking work as a sought after cancer medicine specialist. Chartered Accountant Pradip Kumar Sahoo wished to collaborate with tourism sector to enhance the reach of contemporary art in current times. Artist and world famous water colorist Raghunath Sahoo in his speech advised artist to make art with visual delight. At the end Santosh Mishra proposed the vote of thanks while a score of artist and art lovers attended the inaugural function and later enjoyed the art show “Ideas of Hope”
