Attakali(ଅଟକାଳି) ଛପନ ଭୋଗ- One Of Famous Food From 56 Bhoga Of Lord Jagannath

Attakali is a amouse food of 56 bhog of Lorg Jagannatha. This item is specially prepared on the occasion of Bakula Amabashya and Manabasa Gurubar in Odisha also.
Attakali
Ingredients:
1.Raw rice (ଅରୁଆ ଚାଉଳ)
2.Sugar (ଚିନି)-1 cup
3.scrubbed coconut (ନଡିଆ କୋରା)-1 cup
4.Black pepper powder (ଗୋଲମରିଚ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)-1/2 teaspoon
5. milk-6cup(optional)
6. salt to taste (ଲୁଣ)- 1/4tsp(2-3 pinch)

Procedure:
1.Soak the rice in water about an hour. Drain water from rice.
2.Then grind the rice to make a fine powder.
3.Heat 2cup water on a deep pan on flame.
4.Add salt, black pepper powder and 1/2 cup of scrubbed coconut and stir well. Then slowly go on adding half of the available rice powder to the container while it’s still on the flame and as you go on stirring continuously upto it turn into thick dough.
5.Take the container out and kep aside to let it cool down to room temperature.
6.Then using your palms, make small balls of this dough.
7. Add a little water to the remaining rice-powder to get a semi-liquid form.
8.Now take about 6 cups of milk in another container and boil the same, Add sugar, salt and all the remaining semi-liquid and scrubbed coconut to it and heat further.
9. Then add all the balls and boil further for a little while(upto it turn thick syrup).
10.Now attakali is ready. Let it cool down before being served.

Note:
1. you may use water instead of milk.
2.you may garnish with dry foods.
