Alu Kasa/Alu Dum-A typical Odia Curry – Oriya Food


Alu Kasa
Ingredients:
1.Potato-4-5nos(Boiled)
2.Tomato(chopped)-1no
3.Onion(chopped)-1nos
4.Onion paste-1tsp
5.Garlic paste-1/2 tsp
6.Ginger paste- ½ tsp
7.Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
8.cumin powder- ½ tsp
9.coriander powder- ½ tsp
10.Red chili powder- 1/tsp(as per your taste)
11.Garam masala powder-1/2tsp
12.Hingu: 1pinch
13.coriander leaves (chopped)- 1tsp(optional)
14.Salt as per your taste
Procedure:
•Cut boiled potatos into cube size.
•Heat 2tsp oil on fry pan and bay leaves.
•Add chopped onion,fry till golden brown in color.
•Add ginger-garlic paste,chopped tomato,red chili powder,cumin powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder & salt stir it for 2 min.
•Add potato cubes into it & mix well.add 1 cup of water & cover it with a lid.let the gravy boil till the potato done or cooked properly.
•Open the lid,cook it till all the water evaporate,sprinkle some garam masala & mix well.
•Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.
