Ramchandi: An ancient Shaktipitha which is very famous & unexplored places in #Jharsuguda , #Odisha Called Ramchandi Temple , which is present in Rampur, Brajarajnagar, Dist-Jharsuguda, Odisha .The Shrine is famous not only on the Rampur area but throughout the western Odisha .
Rampur Dandapat (Jamindari) was created during the reigning ‘Chhatrasai Dev’ the 7th King of Sambalpur (1657-1695). One Khytriya youth of Rajpotana belonging to Gaharwal family ‘Prannath Singh’ with his velour subdued the local aborigines of Rampur area in IB basin and received Rampur area as Jagirdari from Chhatrasai Dev, the ruling king of Sambalpur. The Rampur Jamindari had an area of 786 sq.miles.
From the remote past Davi Ramchandi is being worshiped as the reigning deity of Rampur region. The Shrine is famous not only on the Rampur area but throughout the western Orissa. Many pilgrims and devotees come to the Rampur cave from far and near to visit and worship the goddess Ramchandi.
This is very holy place. A recognition of Brajrajnagar. The idol of Mata Chandi is inside a cave on the just bank of Ib River at the South-east corner of Brajrajnagar.
Location of Ramchandi Temple :-
Ramchandi Temple is situated in the bank of Ib River at the South-east corner of Brajrajnagar. The Shrine is inside a cave. The water of river IB usually touches this shrine.

In Monsoon season this shrines gets immersed under the river. In this Temple, people come to worship Goddess Chandi locally famous in the name of “Chandi Maa” .
This important place of ‘Shakti Worship’ is located 10 km. away from Jharsuguda town inside a cave.
It hardly takes ½ hour to reach this spot from Rampur, Brajarajnagar, Dist-Jharsuguda, Odisha .
You can also take a Ride in River with Local Boat. Where the depth of water is 20-30ft deep.
It is located about 30 km from Jharsuguda Railway Station at Brajarajnagar. One can get down to the temple by the iron stairs. And from the temple one can have a beautiful view of the natural surroundings of the banks of the river Ib. This is a very nice picnic spot.
