On the eve of World Earth Day, International sand artist Mr. Manas Kumar Sahoo creates a sand sculpture on the golden sea beach, Puri, Odisha.
Earth Day is celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year. Typical ways of observing Earth Day include planting trees, picking up roadside trash, conducting various programs for recycling and conservation. For this purpose the reputed international sand artist Mr. Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a beautiful sand sculpture on the eve of “World Earth Day” in the golden sea beach, near light house of Puri at the distance of 65 K.m from capital of Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
This year theme of world earth day is: “Trees for the Earth, Let’s get planting.” Mr. Manas Kumar Sahoo has shown leafs around the earth and he also mention through his art planting of trees is one of the easiest ways to protect climate change. The sand sculpture is of 15 feet width made with 10 tons of sand, with a hard labor of nearly 8 hours and with a message “Trees for the Earth, Let’s get planting”.
