Ridge gourd/Janhi Fry- A typical Odia Food
- Ridge gourd/Janhi (250 gm)
- onion(chopped)- 1no
- cumin seeds- 1tsp
- turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
- green chilli – 2no
- curry powder- 1/2 tsp
- vegetable oil – 1tsp
- pinch hing
- salt as per taste
- First wash Janhi and cut (round shape).
- Heat oil on frying pan. Add sliced green chilli and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Then add some pinch of hing and chopped onion.
- Fry it till it turn golden color , then add Janhi and fry it for 2-3min.
- Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder and curry powder.
- Now stir it and allow it properly cooked.
- Serve it with any meal.
