Odisha Govt will spend Rs. 305 crore to develop power infrastructure in Puri and Konark Town for uninterrupted power supply before Nabakalebar festival of Lord Jagannath in 2015 , informed by the Principal Secretary, Energy minister Pradeep Kumar Jena .

Jena said that the project will start from August first week 2014 and will complete before March 2015. For underground power cabling in Puri the state government will spend around Rs 108 crore. He also informed that Energy Department will built a high-power Grid station at Samagara, at a cost of Rs 81.66 crore to meet the energy demand for next 20 years.

Indian engineering and construction conglomerate L&T will do the underground power cabling in Puri town. It should be noted that the Puri town will get three times more power than the required level after these projects completed.

Among others, SP Anup Kumar Sahoo, CESU Chief Executive Officer Sudarshan Nayak, collector Dhiren Kumar Patnaik and Executive Engineer of CESU Siba Prasad Swain were present at the meeting.
