Mati Handi Mutton Curry|| Odia Special dish, #Non-veg dish, #Odisha #Recipe #Mutton #Curry

It’s a very popular non-veg dish in Odisha. You can find this in road side dhabba, hotel on Bhubaneswar to Cuttack road. It’s very simple and spicy but a finger licking dish.

Ingredients:Mati Handi Mutton Curry

  1. Mutton:500gram
  2. Onion : 3 big size
  3. Ginger garlic paste: 2-3 tsp
  4. Turmeric powder: 2tsp
  5. Red chili powder: 1tsp(as per your taste)
  6. Corriender Powder: 1tsp
  7. Cumin powder: 1tsp
  8. Garam masala: 1tsp
  9. Mutton masala: 1tsp
  10. Tomato chopped: 1/2cup
  11. Yogurt: 2tsp
  12. Mustard oil:4tsp
  13. Salt as per your taste
  14. Bay leave : 2nos

Procedure:

  1. First wash mutton and rinse water properly.
  2. Mix all ingredients accept bay leave. Leave it for marinate 4-5hr(best to keep whole night)
  3. Now a heat a clay pot(handi) and heat 1tsp tsp oil , add bay leave.
  4. Now add marinated Mutton and close the lid or close it by silver paper.
  5. Cook it on law flame for 40-45min.
  6. Remove from fire and allow steam to escape. The mutton should be well cooked.
  7. In case it is still not done, cook for another 5 minutes with the lid closed.
  8. Now serve it with boiled rice or Roti.
